Company History

In 1946 Roger Richard created Richards Well Tile Company in Burrville, CT. He produced precast concrete drain tiles and well tiles for local builders. As the industry and housing market began to grow, he saw a demand for quality concrete septic products. In 1952 Richards Well Tile expanded the product line, producing concrete septic tanks and distribution boxes.

Richard Septic Systems, Inc would officially be established in 1985 with the help of Roger’s sons, James Richard and Roger Richard Jr. Sadly, Roger Richard Sr would pass away a short time later in 1986 and Roger Richard Jr would later go on to pursue other endeavors.

Jim, as president of Richard Septic Systems, Inc, brought innovation and engineering design to the family business. Creating new products, including the patented Tru-Vap gallery, and cast-in place pipe seals. He would also establish a separate company called Rissy Plastics, LLC, which manufactures plastic components used in precast concrete and ships all over the world.

The Richards family has held the standard for quality concrete products for more than six decades. That dedication to family business continues on into the next generation. In 2022, Paul Richard took up the reins as president of Richard Septic Systems, bringing with him the commitment to keep moving forward with the changing needs of the industry.
